Le Colonel presents his hand-sewn fabric barrier masks, handmade in France, for the whole family. Our masks are now unisex, having been specifically designed to suit people with a variety of different size and shape faces. If your face is small or slim, we recommend turning the elastic to cross over which will slightly tighten the fit of the mask. These masks also now feature an adjustable nose strip to allow for an even closer, more comfortable fit. Masks can be washed about twenty times. Stock is updated daily. Feel free to (re) subscribe to the alert on the product (s) if you wish to be contacted when more stock is available on our website! Thank you so much for your patience. These barrier masks are hand-sewn in our workshop in Lille. Products are shipped the same or the day next day.

Barrier masks: the must-have for everyday wear
Barrier masks are an important accompaniment to hygiene and social distancing measures in place to help protect ourselves and those around us. Masks can also help prevent you from touching your face with your hands, something that we do hundreds of times a day without realizing it.
Your fabric mask is your first protection against droplets that may carry a virus, preventing possible viral penetration in the mouth and nose area. We have designed our masks to cover these areas with 100% Liberty of London cotton, which is not only very comfortable but breathable too, as you go about your daily life.
We offer many different colors and patterns, because if it’s something you will wear all the time, it’s nice to have a choice! As many of our customers have told us, they are looking for an original touch to their masks: and the Liberty mask offers just that.

For your evenings out, mask up !
Wearing a barrier mask is compulsory on public transport, and highly recommended when in contact with other people. Going to work, shopping, seeing your family are all times when you should wear a mask to help protect yourself, your loved ones and other people you may meet. Your mask should be changed every four hours, which is why we designed uur sets of three masks, which are intended to serve you for the whole day. They are machine washable and able to bed reused when you choose. In the evening, continue this momentum and sport your barrier mask in the evening with friends. Perhaps you’re seeing a few friends you've been looking forward to seeing for a while. Continue to protect them and protect yourself, avoid kissing on the cheek, and wear your barrier mask to help everyone stay safe!

Fabric masks: essential and fashionable
Masks are starting to show up in all sorts of shapes and colors, and are even used by some to make a fashion statement! Some might opt to coordinate their mask with their overall look. Some might choose their mask as the standout accessory in their ensemble. Whereas some might want to opt for an investment piece that is more versatile and that will easily coordinate with many different outfits. We have a variety of different sets, designed to meet the needs of all our individual customers.
Our masks are made according to AFNOR recommendations, and feature three layers of fabrics, designed to provide you with excellent breathability and superior filtering capacity on a daily basis. They have been tested and certified CAT2, a recognised marker of quality and efficacy.
x
The first layer, the outer face of the mask, is 100% cotton.
The second, intermediate layer is a mixture of non-woven fibers, recommended for its superior filtering power. The last layer of fabric is a very tightly woven fabric (99 threads), also 100% cotton.
The “Liberty of London” cotton we use to make barrier masks for you is a high-quality tightly woven cotton, for optimal comfort and efficiency, whatever the weather and circumstances. Whether to protect you against the winter flu, Covid 19, dust or pollution, fabric barrier masks are a more sustainable choice compared to disposable masks.

How to put on and take off your mask
To put on your mask correctly, wash your hands thoroughly, hold the mask by the elastic ear pieces and place the cloth mask over your face, carefully placing the elastic bands around the ears. Finally, adjust to nose piece to fit your nose closely. Do not touch the mask again until it is time to remove it. After four hours, wash your hands thoroughly, remove the mask by the elastics, and put it directly in the washing machine or in the place reserved for dirty masks, and wash your hands again.
x
How to look after your barrier mask
These masks are made in Lille, carefully sewn by hand in high quality, durable materials. To maximize the life-span of your fabric masks, it is essential to take care of them. There is only one way to wash your masks: in the washing machine, for 30 minutes at a minimum temperature of 60°. To fully comply with hygiene measures, dry them in the tumble dryer or hair dryer for lack of anything better, but never in the open air.
x
Hygiene & Social Distancing: a reminder
In addition to wearing a mask, there are a number of simple procedures to follow that are important to protect yourself from a virus and to prevent it from spreading. Firstly, social distancing rules apply: respect a minimum distance of one meter between you and others at all times, do not shake hands, do not kiss or hug. Next, the essential hygiene measures: cough and sneeze into your elbow, use disposable tissues, wash your hands regularly, with soap for least 30 seconds, especially when coming in from the outside and from the supermarket.
